DNS records are essential for directing internet traffic for your domain. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to add A, AAAA, and CNAME records in GoDaddy.
Prerequisites
A GoDaddy account.
A domain registered with GoDaddy.
The target IP address or hostname for your DNS records.
Steps to Add DNS Records in GoDaddy
1. Log in to Your GoDaddy Account
Visit GoDaddy.
Click on "Sign In" and enter your credentials.
2. Access the DNS Settings
In the GoDaddy dashboard, click on My Products.
Locate the domain where you want to add the records and click DNS.
3. Add an A Record
Scroll down to the Records section.
Click on Add to create a new DNS record.
In the Type dropdown, select A.
Fill in the required fields:
Host: Add the following value
_mp
Points to: Please refer to Region-based IP Addresses for the IPv4 addresses
TTL (Time to Live): Leave it as default or set it according to your preference.
Click Save.
4. Add an AAAA Record
Click on Add to create another record.
In the Type dropdown, select AAAA.
Fill in the required fields:
Host: Add the following value
_mp
Points to: Please refer to Region-based IP Addresses for the IPv6 addresses
TTL: Leave it as default or set as needed.
Click Save.
5. Add a CNAME Record
Click on Add to create a new record.
In the Type dropdown, select CNAME.
Fill in the required fields:
Host: Please enter the host that was shared by the support team
Points to: Please enter the value that was shared by the support team
TTL: Leave it as default or set as needed.
Click Save.
