DNS records are essential for directing internet traffic for your domain. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to add A, AAAA, and CNAME records in GoDaddy.

Prerequisites

  • A GoDaddy account.

  • A domain registered with GoDaddy.

  • The target IP address or hostname for your DNS records.

Steps to Add DNS Records in GoDaddy

1. Log in to Your GoDaddy Account

  • Visit GoDaddy.

  • Click on "Sign In" and enter your credentials.

2. Access the DNS Settings

  • In the GoDaddy dashboard, click on My Products.

  • Locate the domain where you want to add the records and click DNS.

3. Add an A Record

  • Scroll down to the Records section.

  • Click on Add to create a new DNS record.

  • In the Type dropdown, select A.

  • Fill in the required fields:

    • Host: Add the following value mp

    • Points to: Please enter the value that was shared by the support team

    • TTL (Time to Live): Leave it as default or set it according to your preference.

  • Click Save.

4. Add an AAAA Record

  • Click on Add to create another record.

  • In the Type dropdown, select AAAA.

  • Fill in the required fields:

    • Host: Add the following value mp

    • Points to: Please enter the value that was shared by the support team

    • TTL: Leave it as default or set as needed.

  • Click Save.

5. Add a CNAME Record

  • Click on Add to create a new record.

  • In the Type dropdown, select CNAME.

  • Fill in the required fields:

    • Host: Please enter the host that was shared by the support team

    • Points to: Please enter the value that was shared by the support team

    • TTL: Leave it as default or set as needed.

  • Click Save.
