# Add a Widget to the Dashboard

## Introduction

This section explains how to add a widget to a custom dashboard.

## Procedure

Perform the following steps to create widgets in the Dashboard:

Follow the procedure provided in [Create a New Custom Dashboard](/media-data-platform/dashboard/create-a-new-custom-dashboard.md) to create a new dashboard.

**Step 1:** Click **Add Widgets**.

**Step 2:** The **Select a Context** window opens. Select a context to build the widget using the available dimensions, metrics, and segments.

**Step 3:** Click Use This Context.

**Note:** The selected context is displayed here. To change it, hover over the context and click **Change**.

**Step 4:** Select Visualization Type.

Select the type of visualization to display the widget data.

* Data Tabl&#x65;**:** Displays the data in a tabular format with rows and columns.
* Counter: Displays a single metric value as a numeric count.
* Line Chart: Shows trends or changes in data over a period of time.
* Bar Chart: Compares data across different categories using bars.
* Pie Chart: Displays data as proportions of a whole in a circular chart.

**Step 5:** Dimensions.\
Drag and drop the required dimensions to organize and analyze the widget data.

Available dimensions include:

* Conversion Dat&#x65;**:** Displays the date when the conversion occurred.
* Conversion Event Name: Displays the name of the conversion event.
* Conversion App Type: Displays the application type where the conversion occurred.
* Browser: Displays the browser used by the user.
* Operating System: Displays the operating system of the user’s device.
* Device Form Factor: Displays the type of device used (for example, mobile, tablet, or desktop).
* UTM Source: Displays the traffic source that directed users to the application.
* UTM Medium: Displays the marketing medium used (for example, email, CPC, or social).
* UTM Term: Displays the keyword or term used in the campaign.
* Campaign ID: Displays the unique identifier assigned to the campaign.
* Campaign Referrer Domain: Displays the domain from which the campaign traffic originated.
* User Visit Type: Displays the type of user visit, such as new or returning.
* Creative Name: Displays the name of the creative used in the campaign.

**Step 6:** Metrics.\
Drag and drop the required metrics to measure and analyze the widget data.

Available metrics include:

* Total Conversion Value: Displays the total value generated from all conversions.
* Average Conversion Value: Displays the average value of each conversion.
* Minimum Conversion Value: Displays the lowest conversion value recorded.
* Number of Conversions: Displays the total number of conversion events.
* Number of Conversions (Last Touch): Displays the number of conversions attributed to the last interaction before the conversion.
* Total Users: Displays the total number of users who performed the tracked activity.
* Average Sales Tim&#x65;**:** Displays the average time taken for a user to complete a conversion.

**Step 7:** To add a new segment, click the plus (+) icon.

**Step 8:** To add a filter, click the plus (+) icon.

**Step 9:** Drag and drop the selected fields into the Widget Preview area.

**Step 10:** In the Name field, enter the widget name.

**Step 11:** Click Add Widget to add the widget.

**Step 12**: A message appears: **Widget created successfully**.

## Date and Time Range

Use the Date and Time Range filter to select the period for which the widget data is displayed.

Note: By default, the Dashboard is set to display the data for the last 7 days.&#x20;

Displays the currently selected start and end dates. At the moment, the dashboard is set to display data for the last seven days.

Click the drop-down to select a predefined date range, such as Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, This Month, or Previous Month. By default, *Last 7 Days* is selected.

You can use the slider to select the time range, and the selected time is displayed next to it.

Select the start and end dates directly from the calendar.

Use the left and right arrows to move between months.

Click ***Apply*** to apply the selected date and time range.

Click ***Cancel*** to discard your changes and close the filter.
